  "abstract": "Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (PSGN) is an important but often under-recognised complication of group A streptococcus (GAS) infection. It typically affects children and occurs 3–6 weeks after GAS infection, presenting with symptoms including haematuria, oedema and hypertension.1 In almost all cases, PSGN leads to reduced serum C3 due to immune complex deposition in the glomeruli. During the recent surge in GAS across the UK, we observed a rise in children presenting with PSGN in the East of England, suggesting that PSGN cases mirror GAS infections.",
