  "abstract": "The 100th anniversary of Archives of Disease in Childhood (ADC) allows an opportunity to reflect on the great medical advances in this brief period of human existence. Science has flourished, alongside the art of medicine with a shared understanding of what constitutes a wonderful childhood, with all the supporting constructs of law, culture and children’s rights.1 As of 2025, ADC has published over 38 000 documents since its inception. This includes original research articles, reviews, commentaries and educational pieces across its main journal, Fetal & Neonatal and Education & Practice editions.",
